The greatest investment you can make in life is in your own wellbeing. In order to show up at your best, ready to conquer the day, you need to be strong, fit and healthy. There is, in my view, nothing more important than the state of your health, which dictates how you are feeling in every waking moment of your life.
I have personally benefited tremendously from the time and energy I have invested towards improving my health. I am stronger and fitter than I was 10 years ago, and now live every day with a zest and spark that allows me to navigate each day’s obstacles.
I feel that my energy levels allow me to tackle the day’s challenges and have allowed me to become more resilient in handling stressful situations. With this comes an improved sense of focus and cognitive performance. Collectively, this allows me to operate at a high level of performance, which is key to setting me up for success in my personal and professional endeavours.
Being fit and healthy can be the difference between being independent as you age and having to rely on others to go about your daily tasks; having the energy to play with your children after a long day of work; or dealing with a stressful situation with poise and composure. Furthermore, it helps to instil the drive needed to motivate yourself to complete tasks that are physically and mentally demanding, even when you are not feeling your best.
We often take our health for granted and assume that it shall remain with us forever. The reality is that this is something that needs to be worked on daily and requires time, energy and dedication to attain and preserve.
There is no better gift than the sensation of waking up full of energy, prepared to tackle the day and enjoy its adventures. Unfortunately, for most of us today, we wake up tired, stressed out and physically debilitated. The vitality that we once took granted during our youth has somehow eluded us.
The most empowering part is understanding that you have the power to control your health. If we can learn to treat our bodies with the care and respect that it deserves, it will reward us with an abundance of bounties.
Learn to treat your health as your most valuable commercial asset, which has the potential to add or lose value because of your daily choices and actions. By establishing healthy lifestyle and nutrition habits, and developing a strong body, you will be on the path to securing vibrant health.
I hope to inspire people to take ownership of their health by dedicating time daily towards achieving this goal. Health is a multifaceted journey that requires constant work to develop and preserve.
When starting on your journey, I always recommend taking on a coach to guide you along the way. They will help you to create clear goals that you can keep accountable to, while teaching you the skills required to progress as efficiently as possible. By learning from a skilled practitioner, you gain a wealth of knowledge that will serve you for the rest of your life. Knowledge and experience put into action is power.
