The benefits of post-natal Pilates at TRIBES
TRIBES Fitness
10 March 2025
A new TRIBES offering, post-natal Pilates: a safe and effective way for new mothers to return to exercise after pregnancy and childbirth. It focuses on rebuilding core strength, improving posture, enhancing flexibility, and promoting overall well-being.
Unlike traditional workouts, post-natal Pilates is low-impact and emphasises controlled movements, making it safe for mothers as they regain their physical strength.
Benefits of Post-Natal Pilates
Strengthens the Core and Pelvic Floor
Pregnancy and childbirth significantly affect the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. Pilates exercises gently engage and strengthen these areas, helping new mothers regain stability, reduce back pain, and improve bladder control.
Improves Posture
New mothers often experience poor posture due to breastfeeding, carrying the baby, and adjusting to new daily activities. Pilates helps realign the spine, strengthen the back muscles, and promote better posture.
Enhances Flexibility and Mobility
Hormonal changes during pregnancy loosen ligaments and joints, leading to instability. Post-natal Pilates encourages flexibility while reinforcing muscle control to support daily movements with ease.
Boosts Mental Wellbeing
Caring for a newborn can be both joyful and overwhelming. Engaging in Pilates promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances overall mood by releasing endorphins—natural feel-good hormones
