During my 9 years working as a Clinical Massage Practitioner, I had the opportunity to observe the human body, and I was keen to learn more.
Giving massages to clients with an autoimmune disease, or with stubborn muscle tissues always made me wonder what else I can do about those cases beyond the hands-on treatment.
Massage is a powerful healing tool that we all need regularly after a certain age, or with particular lifestyles.
In 2018, life gifted me with Graves’ disease to grow and evolve, which then guided me towards homeopathy. During my own healing journey, I have decided to study it and become a licenced practitioner.
Practical Homeopathy is different from the old Classical homeopathic methods. It is a comprehensive system of medicine and using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as one of our observation tools with its 5000-year history became a useful way to translate how the body works.
According to TCM, muscles and tendons are ruled by the liver. Joints, cartilage and bones are ruled by the kidneys. These energetic connections within the body system can help us understand more about fitness and vitality on a deeper level.
When we struggle with muscle recovery, energy level, range of motion, weight loss, chronic pain, discomforts, inflammatory states, autoimmune disorders that block us from a fully enjoyable and productive workout, there is a lot more that we can learn about the root of these issues.
The liver plays a central role in metabolic processes of the body. It metabolises hormones, stores key minerals such as Zinc, Iron, Vitamin D, E, K, A, Copper, Magnesium, maintaining blood sugar level, and removing waste products.
The liver turns food into energy, so it is no wonder why TCM says that the flow of the QI, (or Vital force) depends on the health of the liver.
When we are carrying chronic toxicity, key minerals will remain low without extra storage in the liver to help us recover after an upgraded training plan. Supplements or clean eating may not always be enough unless a personalised detox is processed.
Chronic toxicity is something that we may or may not be aware of since we tend to forget about past events, negative effects of certain substances, environmental influences and medical history. A good practitioner can help you go through your timeline and highlight potential blocks that need addressing.
We work on a holistic level which means that we also address stress triggers that weaken the body system. Suppressed anger and frustration are the most common states that contribute to the weakening of this part of the body.
The kidney is another key organ that oversees important body processes, and it is a paired organ with the adrenals; the balance of the electrolyte minerals depends on the health of these two.
Electrolyte minerals are potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. These minerals play a major role in recovering after exercise.
When there is an imbalance, we will have issues with muscle cramps, neurological complaints, lactic acid release, optimal response to a massage therapy session, and we can develop bone mineral loss that leads to high levels of calcium in the blood and stiff muscles.
The kidneys and the adrenals can also be affected by several toxicity factors especially by synthetic hormone history.
With a holistic approach, on a mental/emotional level it will be recent or remote stress, anxiety, fright, or fear that contribute to the long-term weakening of these organs.
We are mineral beings. We need essential minerals to function.
All body organs and glands are responsible for successful utilisation of nutrients not only to perform well at the gym, but to bring out our potential to live a whole fulfilled life.
Practical Homeopathy can help you take your health and healing journey as far as you wish working on any level that feels comfortable. We use several methods of prescribing for supporting tissues, organs, initiating detox processes, and healing mental/emotional trauma factors or stress triggers. It is an opportunity for self-development, self-discovery and to take charge of our own health and wellbeing.
